Information Technology training courses and events at University of Kansas Professional and Continuing Education

Information Technology

Today's workforce needs more IT professionals. In Kansas City—and many other cities—the IT field is a great opportunity for those seeking high-quality employment, and it’s a constraint on the growth of businesses and the economy. University of Kansas Professional & Continuing Education (KUPCE) is responding to this growing workforce development need with a variety of IT-related training events and courses. Combined with academic undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs at the Edwards Campus in Kansas City, KU has the educational offerings you need to launch your IT career and advance it as the industry evolves.

Big Data Programs

Following the first ever KU Big Data Symposium hosted at the KU Edwards Campus in August 2016, many individuals and organizations in the metro asked KU to develop more programming in this growing field. In response to these Kansas City workforce development needs, more Big Data programming from KU is coming to the metro area.
In February 2017, KUPCE is offering the "Big Data for Managers and Decision Makers" workshop, designed for mid-level managers with little-to-no data science expertise. You'll learn the basics of Big Data in order to make key organizational decisions, assess whether you need a data management team—and, if you do, how get the most out of it—and much more.
